   I enjoyed browsing through the nostalgic pictures and look forward to new postings. Although I wasn’t raised in Hyden, I remember going “on vacation” each summer to visit my grandparents. However, as a child you tend to take for granted that everyone will always be there when you return. I am reminded of the fortitude that my grandparents and extended family were required to have to survive. I am not ashamed. Instead, I am very proud that my parents are from Leslie County, KY. It has been several years since I have been able to return and I probably won’t be able to come back for some time. So, it is nice that you have this blog for those of us who are far away.
